From owning our first Panerai and trying to replicate the WWII watch strap, Wotancraft designs were always inspired by unique vintage aesthetics and we never stopped loving them.

In recent years, we have also been drawn to outdoor activities. Outdoor functionality and elements have also been slowly integrated into our designs, creating a new “Vintage Tech” concept. This unique concept could be seen throughout the Trooper, Pilot Bag Series, and now in the new City Explorer Series.

From the design, cuttings, and hardware to the heavyweight waxed canvas, a WWII military bag is sturdy and no doubt an eye-catcher. It is a bag with strong nostalgic vibes. However, when it comes to the weight of the bag, it might not be so practical for modern everyday use.

Inspired by WWII military backpacks, leather Y-straps, small details such as distressed rivets, and metal hardware are also added to the Scout for a full nostalgic battlefield experience.

What “Modern” features are included?

For convenience, the main compartment is accessed through a large accordion-style opening, which also makes it easy to spot your gear.

An individual opening is added to reach for your laptop/iPad directly.

For organizing your gear, the main compartment is compatible with Wotancraft Interior Pocket Modules.

Built from Wotancraft Duelcoat Fabric and YKK waterproof zippers, the Scout will protect your gear even in heavy downpours.

Hidden under the vintage military appearance, the bag comes with a soft anti-slip pressure-relieving shoulder padding and extra pockets, making the bag suitable for shooting, daily use, and traveling.

Vintage Aesthetics + Modern Functionality

Filled with WWII military nostalgic vibes, the Scout is built from Wotancraft Duelcoat Fabric, battle distress leather, and detailed bits such as distress rivets and hardware.

Accordion-style 40° front opening

The lid of the Scout can be completely folded to the back of the bag and with the help of its accordion-style 40° front opening design, spotting and accessing your belongings/camera gear has never been easier. The main compartment can hold up to 1 full-frame body + 3 lenses. The YKK watertight zippers will also prevent rainwater from seeping into the main compartment.

Compatible with Interior Pocket Modules

Covered in medical-grade Velcro, Wotancraft Pocket modules can be anchored to the interior for organizing your accessory.

Q:  Are there any other sizes for the Scout?

A:  No.

Q:  an the laptop divider fit a 13” laptop?

A:  With the divider, the Scout can hold a 13” MacBook Pro. Please check if your laptop is within 32 x 24cm (W x H) before purchasing.

Q:  How many bodies and lenses can the Scout hold?

A:  The Scout can hold 1 full-frame body + 3 lenses or 2 bodies + 2 lenses.

Q:  Can the Scout fit a full-frame DSLR with a battery grip?

A:  Yes.

Q:  Can the Scout fit a drone?

A:  Yes, it can fit up to a DJI Mavic foldable drone.

Q:  Is the Scout waterproof?

A:  No. but it is water-resistant. The interior remains dry even under heavy rain.

Q:  Is the leather waterproof?

A:  No, but it is water repellent for a short while. When water is collected on the leather surface, the water will eventually seep through. Just in case the bag gets wet, please take reference from the next Q & A question “Leather Maintenance”.
